Terms and Conditions

These terms govern the purchase and use of QueryLight software ("the Software") developed and sold by FUNKARNU SL, NIF B75540567, Valencia, Spain ("we", "us", "our"). By purchasing or using the Software, you agree to these terms.

1. Product Description

QueryLight is a native macOS application for working with SQLite databases. It requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

2. License

2.1 QueryLight License

A QueryLight license grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive right to use the Software on any Mac computers that you own or control, for personal or commercial use. One license per person. The license is not transferable to another person.

2.2 Supporter License

A Supporter license includes everything in the QueryLight license, plus access to Pro features in all future major versions of the Software for as long as they are released.

2.3 Updates and Major Versions

All licenses include free updates within the major version you purchased (e.g., all v1.x updates). The Supporter license additionally includes Pro features in all future major versions (v2, v3, and beyond) for as long as they are released.

2.4 Restrictions

You may not:

  • Redistribute, sublicense, rent, or lease the Software
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Share your license key with others
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose

3. Pricing and Payment

Prices are listed on our website in US dollars (USD). For EU consumers, the final price at checkout will include VAT applicable to your country of residence, as required by EU law.

Payment is processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. Paddle handles billing, VAT collection, invoicing, and refund processing. Paddle's terms are available at paddle.com/legal/terms.

4. Delivery

The Software is delivered digitally. After purchase, you will receive a license key by email and a link to download the Software. Delivery is considered complete when the license key has been sent to the email address you provided.

5. Right of Withdrawal

Under EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.

However, in accordance with Article 16(m) of the same directive, the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content that has been delivered (i.e., the license key has been sent and/or the Software has been downloaded), provided you have given your prior express consent and acknowledged that you lose the right of withdrawal. This consent is collected at checkout.

If you have not yet downloaded or activated the Software, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by contacting us at support@querylight.app.

6. Refund Policy

Beyond the statutory right of withdrawal described above, we offer refunds on a case-by-case basis if:

  • The Software does not function as described on our website
  • You experience a critical bug that prevents normal use and we are unable to resolve it

Refund requests must be made within 30 days of purchase by emailing support@querylight.app. We will coordinate the refund with Paddle on your behalf.

7. Legal Guarantee of Conformity

In accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/770 (Digital Content Directive) as transposed by Real Decreto-ley 7/2021, we guarantee that the Software conforms to what is described on our website and to what a consumer may reasonably expect from a product of this type.

The legal guarantee period is 3 years from the date of delivery (as per Spanish law since March 2022). If the Software does not conform, you are entitled to have it brought into conformity free of charge, to receive a proportionate price reduction, or to terminate the contract, in accordance with applicable law.

8. Intellectual Property

The Software, including its code, design, and documentation, is the intellectual property of FUNKARNU SL. Your license grants you the right to use the Software, not ownership of it.

SQLite is in the public domain. QueryLight is not affiliated with the SQLite project.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the Software is provided "as is" without additional warranties beyond the legal guarantee described in section 7. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

This disclaimer does not affect your statutory consumer rights under applicable EU or national law, including the legal guarantee of conformity.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FUNKARNU SL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Software, including but not limited to data loss.

Our total liability under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Support

We provide support on a best-effort basis via the feedback form on our website and by email. We do not guarantee response times or resolution of all issues.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Changes do not apply retroactively to licenses already purchased.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Valencia, Spain.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels I). Your local mandatory consumer protections also apply regardless of the governing law chosen here.

14. Online Dispute Resolution

The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform for consumers who wish to resolve disputes out of court. You can access it at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our email for ODR purposes is support@querylight.app.
